About South West Inventors Club
The South West Inventors Club meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at The Old
Dairy Café, Bower Hinton Farm, Martock. TA12 6LH.
We operate as a mutual support group sharing our experiences (good and bad)
at trying to get our inventions into commercial production. We help each other
with practical suggestions during a “round the table” session at each
meeting, (where one might find a certain material, a machinist capable of a
certain task, the best type of plastic moulding, the best type of Intellectual
property cover, etc)
We have speakers at some meetings, generally offering their services, could be
regarding packaging or licence agreements for
instance.
It is a long road from idea to shop shelf, but it can
be done several ways, it helps to have a fighting
fund (an amount you are prepared to loose on a
certain project before deciding to either go ahead
or not). You need determination, it helps to try to
do something to your project every day, even if it is
only to answer an e-mail, it is a great help to join an
Inventors Club, as you try to have some news for
the next meeting.
Our Golden Rules
1- If it isn’t patented don’t tell anyone about it without an NDA.
2 - Don’t pay anyone to exploit your invention, they will probably exploit you. (by
all means pay for services but make sure you know exactly what you are getting
for your money).

We have other products on the market and many others in the pipeline.
